About

Karst Science Days is an event organized by the "Emil Racoviță" Institute of Speleology and Department of Biological Science of the Romanian Academy with the aim of bringing together students (graduates, masters and PhDs) and young researchers in the fields of karstology and underground biology, offering the opportunity to share information about their current research, to discuss and exchange ideas, to debate theoretical and practical topics related to their scientific work and to discuss perspectives and experiences in their field of research.

Purpose

The purpose of the event is to prepare students and young researchers in training for the next step in their career, to educate and train the next generation of researchers by sharing knowledge; to contribute to the dissemination of information on various aspects of underground environment and to promote collaboration, connection and the spirit of involvement in the scientific community studying karst ecosystems.

Program

The symposium is scheduled to take place on 14.11.2025

The program focuses on two main themes, karstology and subsurface biology, and will include 15-minute oral presentations and a poster session. The event is addressed to students who are in the last two years of study, master's students, doctoral students.
